Intrinsic Motivation
Little children like to play and to find out . they’re active, curious, and wanting to engage their environments, and once they do they learn. To some extent adults also like to play and to find out . When people are playing and learning during this eager and willing way, they’re intrinsically motivated. Throughout life, once they are in their healthiest states, they’re active and interested, and therefore the intrinsically motivated behaviors that result help them acquire knowledge about themselves and their world. Rewards and intrinsic motivation: Resolving the controversy
The authors’ premise during this book is that there’s no inherent negative property of rewards. they’re not harmful to attribute . If anything, rewards are a natural a part of attribute . what’s important is to make sure that reward systems promote, instead of restrict, human freedom. this is often exactly what’s meant by the phrase, the effective use of rewards. As we enter into the new millennium, the time is ripe to debunk old myths and to bring rewards back to the image . An uncritical reliance on weak experimental data and on a philosophy asserting that rewards are harmful to attribute has been maintained at the expense of building a far better world during which to measure . Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation to Use Computers in the Workplace 1
Previous research indicates that perceived usefulness may be a major determinant and predictor of intentions to use computers within the workplace. In contrast, the impact of enjoyment on usage intentions has not been examined. Two studies are reported concerning the relative effects of usefulness and delight on intentions to use, and usage of, computers within the workplace. Usefulness had a robust effect on usage intentions in both Study 1, regarding data processing software (β=.68), and Study 2, regarding business graphics programs (β=.79). As hypothesized, enjoyment also had a big effect on intentions in both studies, controlling for perceived usefulness (β=.16 and 0.15 for Studies 1 and a couple of , respectively). [3]
Invertebrate disgust reduction in and out of school and its effects on state intrinsic motivation
Invertebrates are utilized in environmental, biology, and science education. However, they will elicit disgust, which may be detrimental for motivational and learning outcomes. additionally , practical work including hands-on interaction with living invertebrates might be a viable thanks to reduce invertebrate disgust and strengthen state intrinsic motivation. Moreover, Big-Five personality may explain the students’ reaction to the exposure with live invertebrates. Therefore, this study tested the consequences of an intervention with living invertebrates on disgust and state intrinsic motivation during a sample of 1861 students (age 10–12 years). Moreover, we tested whether an in-school or an out-of-school intervention was more successful in reducing disgust as compared to the control group. [4]
Integrating Instructional Video Drama to Enhance Islamic Studies Students’ Intrinsic Motivation: An Experimental Research
The purpose of this research is to explore the impact of instructional video drama integration in teaching Islamic studies to reinforce students’ intrinsic motivation. sampling technique was employed by the researcher to pick 60 subjects of the study from School for Arabic studies, Kano. Similarly, the themes were randomly designated into either control or experimental group. After the experiment, an adapted questionnaire measuring students’ intrinsic motivation was administered to both groups. to feature more validity to quantitative data, three students were purposely selected from the experimental group and interviewed on the effect of the video on their intrinsic motivation.
