With the growing worry about the environment as a result of the widespread use of non-biodegradable plastics, most research and industry are now looking at the possibilities of biodegradable polymers that might potentially replace those materials. Fortunately, our ecosystem contains a plethora of renewable resources on which we may rely, resulting in eco-friendly materials that are far more efficient than existing manufactured plastic materials. This study provides an overview of biopolymers, as well as the numerous mixes and composites that have been created thus far. The various methods for synthesising these mixes and composites are also described. Some of the most prevalent biopolymers are also investigated for their uses.
